Nubuk Revival

So, I have been in the shoe business now for 7 years and I am happy to say that we have finally stumbled upon a product that actually cleans nubuk! This product is supposed to clean suede too - and I am sure it does. I bought a little bottle of a product called Dyo cleaner in Chicago a few years back but I was never able to locate a manufacturer for it. It was a spot cleaner - that was absolutely amazing! I guess the Dyo company went out of business. Luckily for nubuk & suede lovers everywhere - LCI is producing the spot cleaner under their name. When I called my distributor, I found that LCI also makes a suede/nubuk foam cleaner. Yeah!

The cleaner is a foam product and a little goes a long way. I have some before and after pics below. These are my husband's Sperry Top-siders that he mowed the lawn in (more than once) The poor shoes have been abused. I applied the foam and brushed it in with a kids toothbrush. I let it dry and went back over a couple of spots again.Don't they look awesome! To finish them off, I sprayed them with Suede Renew - to brighten up the color. I can't believe how great they look!
The product is pretty inexpensive too. It was so easy and took no time at all to do, so the next time your husband wants to mow the lawn in his nice shoes, you will be prepared : )

Just saw these in a tweet from Simple. Very entertaining! Not exactly sure how they work. It seems to me that if you wore them in the sand, the sand would stick - yuk! I also wonder if the stickee stuff stays on the bottom of your feet. Very interesting - check out the article below

Call for Artists - Stilettos on Parade

Time to unleash your inner artist! We are looking for people to decorate high heel shoes for our art show on June 18th. Prizes and a trophy given to the People's Choice Award and the Gal's at 12th Street Shoes Favorite Award.

This year we will be auctioning off the art pieces and donating all the money to the Womencare Shelter in Bellingham. All of the artwork will be put on display during the Fairhaven Solstice Walk a-bout on June 18th.

Stop by the store to pick up your shoe to decorate for the show.

Girls Night Out Soiree

We had such a blast last night! Good times had by all! The sun came out and made the night just perfect. So many women out in the district - it was awesome! The night started off with a Bra Parade down Harris - this IS an event for Breast Cancer. The parade was triple the size it was last year. The first video is of the parade.




The festivities culminated at the Fairhaven Pub. It started with a tango demonstration, then a little music from Tom Sandbloom - he was awesome. My hubby then emceed the Fashion Show. HE is such a sport. He even wore is pink cummerbund and tie. You have to watch the video below and wait for Fairhaven Bike & Ski to come out - they were very entertaining! My favorite of the night.

We aren't the best video people so no jokes. We tried!



I didn't video the bachelor auction, but I should have. Cute boys out there! Shannon was great as the emcee for this. Perfect choice! The evening ended with an "I will survive" dance by Ariel. This I can't describe you just have to watch it.



I sure hope we raised a lot of money for St. Joseph's Cancer Center last night. I will let you know as soon as we have the final talley. Can't wait until next year!

Girls Night Out in Fairhaven

Big things happening this Thursday in Fairhaven! It is the 5th annual Girls Night Out. It is going to be a great night - so much to do! We will be spinning the prize wheel for some very fun PINK prizes. We are also raffling off a pair of Pink Simple shoes. They are on display at the store if you want to take a look ahead of time.
